12/24/2023 0 Comments The wild case game![]() Q. Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with us. Creating the characters was certainly the most exciting part of the development. We photographed ourselves in period costumes and then attached animal heads to them, most of which we also photographed ourselves in zoos, wildlife parks or studio conditions. Ha-ha! Yes, it's not an everyday sight and perhaps that's not even the strangest thing about our game. Quite easily one of the best things I have ever seen, I would love to know more about the thought and design process on this one. Stadia will definitely stay on our radar, and be one of our focuses. Q. Will Stadia be part of the future development plans of 'The Wild Gentlemen'? We're certainly doing exciting things and if it's up to us, we'd like to expand the world we've created for Chicken Police with more than one titles. ![]() We have a lot of plans and we are working on more than one project, but we can't tell you any more than that for now. Q. So what next for 'The Wild Gentlemen', will there be more content for Chicken Police - Paint It RED! Or the development of a new game perhaps? The process of porting the game in general is comparable to other platforms. Uploading a big game can take time, so having a good internet connection is important. For Stadia that's not the case, so you have to wrap your head around the fact that the game is running somewhere in the cloud and you can things like switching the device mid session where you play the game. On other platforms you usually have your device where you can play and test the game in the office. Q. How does developing a game on Stadia compare to developing for other platforms? ![]() This helped us a lot bringing the game to Stadia. We also ported Chicken Police to consoles before, so we knew the platform and the game. We have experience with Stadia from bringing other titles like Spitlings or Little Big Workshop to Stadia. Q. How did the team find the development process of bringing the game to Stadia? To be honest, our goal is to be on as many platforms as possible, but Stadia seemed like an excellent opportunity from the start. Q. The game was recently released on Google Stadia, what fueled your decision to bring the game to the Stadia platform? In addition, there have been obvious gaming influences such as Grim Fandango, Snatcher and L.A.Noire to name but a few. We were definitely inspired by the classics of hardboiled literature, especially the works of Raymond Chandler, as well as films such as Double Indemnity, Gilda, Casablanca, or The Big Sleep and Chinatown. Q. What was the inspiration and thought process behind the creation of Chicken Police - Paint It Red!? It's a humorous, yet adult, satirical story about two rooster detectives trying to unravel a tricky case in a city full of predators and crime. From these ingredients, we've created the strange - yet functional - blend that is the heart and soul of Chicken Police. The game would be a classic noir detective story, but we've added animal characters, a world entirely of our own creation and some pretty unique visuals to the mix. Q. Chicken Police - Paint It Red! Is the first game from the studio, please tell us more about the game? Our game itself started out small too, but as new ideas came along, the title got more ambitious and the team got bigger. The Wild Gentlemen started super-small (with only 3 members) that quickly grew out of it. Q. Can you please tell us more about 'The Wild Gentlemen'? I'm Bálint Varga Bánk, one of the founders of The Wild Gentlemen and writer/designer of Chicken Police. Hi, for our readers who may not know, can you please introduce yourself? Many thanks to Bálint for taking the time to talk with us.
